Advice to pilgrims
As the Viverone/Roppolo - Santhià stage is reasonably short and easy (16.8 km) in order to shorten the successive one, which is on the other hand particularly long and hard (28 km), we would suggest to our pilgrim clients if they arrive in the early afternoon, to prolong the walk (having left their luggage in the place where they will spend the night) as far as San Germano Vercellese (8.5 km) to then return to Santhià for the night with one of the trains which hourly run that route (every two hours on Sundays and bank holidays).
(Timetables on Trenitalia website: https://www.trenitalia.com/en.html).
The next morning the pilgrims can reach San Germano Vercellese by train (having already walked the stage there) and from there they can resume the walk to Vercelli (20 km).
